Start date Jan-10-2023.. Classes will take place on zoom live 9am PST Tuesday’s. Classes will run for 2.5-3 hours. We will communicate and send HW through designated discord server and email.

HOW IT WORKS: I will announce when the next live class will start on my social medias. You can purchase this class at any time and watch the previously recorded lessons AND you can join the live classes when I teach them. You only buy the class once and you can continue to join the classes whenever I teach. Each time I teach this class, I will replace the recorded lessons so you will always have the most current recordings.

This is an advanced class, a good understanding of painting in photoshop and fundamentals is recommended before taking this class. (You can watch my “intro to photoshop and values” class if you want to brush up on the basics.) In this class we will go over what it’s like to work as a visdev artist, lessons reflect the tasks you will be asked to do if you are working on a movie. Perfect class for building a portfolio and getting ready for your first job in the animation industry.

Each week there will be a lesson, demo, and I will give homework that allows you to practice topics and build on what we have learned. I will paint over your work and help you to bring your paintings to the next level!

W2- Color script

W3- Design language

W4- Story beats / pushing the narrative

W5- Pitch paintings

W6- 3D techniques / paint over 3D / block outs (no prior 3D knowledge needed)

W7- Color keys

W8- Prop / Texture design / packeting for animation / industry tips / making it in the industry / business side

What you need? Any painting app, a computer with tablet or an iPad. (I will be painting in Photoshop so I will go over some PS tools but PS is not necessary.)
